SUN. NOV, 27 at 3pm | Race and Identity Workshop lead by NJ Mitchell, Mosaic Board Member and Rabbi

This workshop will take place in Lab I and will last for 75 minutes.

NJ Mitchell is the artistic director of Mt Gilead Performing Arts Ministry and a Board Member of Mosaic Theater Company. She is an actress, an educator, and a director. She has previously worked in the theater department of Catholic University, St. Paul Public Charter School, and Brookland Middle School. She has also worked with Kids For Peace DC and the MD Youth Homeless Project.

Rabbi Batya is the Jewish Community Relations Council Director of DC Government and Community Relations and Director of Social Justice Initiatives and Intergroup Relations. Batya is a Conservative Rabbi, ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary in1998. She is the current Chair of the InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington as well as the Co-Chair for Montgomery County Faith Community Advisory Council. She has a BA in Political Science from Rutgers University, a degree in Master of Hebrew Letters from The University of Judaism, as well as a Master’s degree and Rabbinic Ordination from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Batya has worked in Jewish education at all levels and worked at a number of social service agencies. Batya lives in Washington, DC with her three children.
