Terry Teachout

Next on #DreamProject, we are featuring Terry Teachout! Teachout is the playwright of our hit opening show #SatchmoAtTheWalforf! This man of many talents is also a theater critic, biographer, author, librettist, and blogger! Read about what his dreams were as a teenager: "I wanted to be a musician when I was a teenager, so I moved from a small rural town to Kansas City and started playing #jazz. Later on, though, I realized that I was better at #writing than playing, so I switched hats. Now I’m the drama critic of The Wall Street Journal and the author, most recently, of Satchmo at the Waldorf, a play that has been produced at the Mosaic Theater and from coast to coast. I never imagined that I’d live in New York or become a big-city drama critic or write and direct a successful play. So don’t be afraid to dream—and don’t limit yourself to your dreams, even the wildest ones. Listen to your #heart and remember that life is full of surprises."
