Following the 8:00PM performance, join us for a post-show discussion and talkback featuring Joanna Cifredo (National Center for Transgender Equality Policy Analyst for Racial and Economic Justice).
As the Racial & Economic Justice Policy Analyst, Joanna Cifredo serves as policy expert on issues related to communities of color, immigrants and lower income transgender people. In addition to her role at NCTE Joanna serves as an Advisor to the Washington D.C. Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs where she lends her expertise to advise the Mayor on policy reforms such as healthcare, housing and employment that will aid DC’s LGBTQ community. Joanna also serves on the Board of Directors at Whitman Walker Health, D.C.’s largest health care provider serving the LGBTQ Community. Joanna is a writer and volunteers Wednesday nights with La Clinica del Pueblo’s Empoderate Youth Center, DC’s only youth center that exclusively serves the trans and gay Latino immigrant community. At the Empoderate Youth Center, Joanna lends her support by serving on the Community Advisory Board.
