Who Was Mary Seacole? Find out with in this animated video Series.

Mary Seacole grew up in Jamaica, the daughter of a local hotel owner and a Scottish soldier, admired her mother and yearned to see the world.

She would travel to London and Panama where she helped contain the Cholera epidemic before venturing to Ukraine helping to treat soldiers on the battlefield of the Crimean War. Her story is one of perseverance and overcoming adversity as one of the first Black female caregivers, she was rejected by both the War Office and Florence Nightingale's expedition, and instead carved her own path and created an enduring legacy.
